Benefits of Red Pimento Oil

Many naturals and hair care professionals swear by red pimento oil benefits and say it's an essential oil with a plethora of them. And this is true! It has anesthetic, analgesic, antioxidant, antiseptic and carminative properties among other things.

It is excellent for the maintenance of both healthy hair and skin. Many naturalistas and people with relaxed hair use the "Strong Roots" version of the oil, which is from the Tropic Isle Living line. It also consists of wheat germ, Jamaican black castor oil and organic coconut oil.

The Strong Roots Red pimento oil is excellent  in conditioning a dry scalp, preventing hair loss/breakage, nourishing hair, adding volume, and is an aid in treating alopecia. Alopecia is an auto immune disease where the body's immune system attacks the hair follicles.

Two ways to use the oil in hair treatment is to use it as a moisturizer or it can be used as a hot oil treatment.

If using the strong roots line as a hair and scalp moisturizer, it is recommended that you use it every 2-3 days if you have natural hair or are transitioning to natural hair and every 1-2 days for relaxed or texturized hair.

Apply a liberal amount directly into your scalp and massage ensuring full coverage. To use as a hot oil treatment, massage the oil into your scalp ensuring again that there is full coverage.

Sit under a heating cap for about 20 minutes or you may use a hot towel wrapped around your head if you prefer a more mild heat source.

If you are looking for the more therapeutic aspect of the oil, then you should try the Tropic Isle Living line. This product consists of 100% raw red pimento oil.

Apply to sore joints and areas of pain or discomfort on the body. It also has calming properties that assist in treating stress, anxiety and depression.

It is also great in treating some respiratory problems such as asthma or a cough from a cold. You can still use this pure oil for moisturizing your hair and scalp but it is recommended that you mix it with an essential oil such as coconut or jojoba oil to obtain the best results.
