If the oil is consistently applied onto your hair and massaged into your scalp, it will eventually leave your hair free from itchiness, dryness and discomfort.

Treating lice

Using tea tree oil in treating lice has had many reports of being an effective alternative from using traditional lice products. It has been shown to be effective in killing lice nits and reducing the number of live lice. It may also have lice-repelling properties.

A combination of the oil and lavender oil has been shown to be the most effective at killing lice eggs and live lice.  While many shampoos and conditioners have tea tree oil in them, they are unlikely to have a high enough concentration to be effective.

A minimum concentration of 2% is required to kill lice nits. Make a mixture containing 2-4 drops of tee tree oil, 2-4 drops of lavender oil and a quarter size amount of shampoo in a small bowl or dye applicator. Work the mixture into your hair and scalp, leave on for thirty minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Treating Cradle Cap

With the anti-fungal properties in tea tree oil, it works wonders in treating cradle cap. It is very potent and can irritate baby's tender scalp so always make sure to dilute the oil. You can also mix 4-5 drops of tea tree oil with one tbsp of olive oil. Utilize it on the infected area. After 5-10 minutes, rinse with a mild shampoo.

Hair Growth

Hair should be properly washed and conditioned with gentle and harmless products that promote healthy hair growth and prevent damage, thinning and breakage. It is important to choose gentle products that will cleanse the hair without stripping the natural oils from it, or leaving any unwanted residues.

Tea tree oil helps to unclog pores in the scalp that may be blocked due to regular use of shampoos and other hair products containing fillers and polymers. Just add few drops of the oil to a quarter size of shampoo and you're good to go. This wonderful oil also make your hair look shiny and fresh.
